There are many awards that can be earned by Cub Scouts in addition to adventures and rank. Here are some that scouts in Pack 31 have recently earned.
To encourage Cub Scouts to become active in the outdoors, the Cub Scout Outdoor Activity Award may be earned as a Tiger Cub, Wolf, Bear, and Webelos Scout. Scouts must attend Cub Scout day camp or Cub Scout/Webelos Scout resident camp to earn this award. The award patch is worn on the right pocket flap (Emblem, No. 14235).
For more information please see the award requirements.
To encourage a pack to be active when school is out for the summer, the Summertime Pack Award is earned by doing one scouting activity per month in June, July, and August. This award has three recognitions. The pack can qualify for the certificate and streamer by planning and conducting three pack activities—one each in June, July, and August. Dens with an average attendance of at least half their members at the three summer pack events are eligible for a colorful den participation ribbon. Scouts who participate in all three pack events are eligible to receive the National Summertime Pack Award pin, which they can wear on the right pocket flap of their uniform.
For more information, please see the award requirements.
To encourage scouts to pursue their interests in science, technology, engineering, and math, the BSA has developed a series of STEM awards. These awards are conducted at the council level.

Whittling Chip is earned by Bear, Webelos, or Arrow of Light scouts. Working with their adult partner, scouts learn about pocket knife safety and practice whittling to earn this award. Once Whittling Chip is earned, a Cub Scout is allowed to carry and use a pocket knife (at appropriate venues and activities).
Information on the Whittling Chip requirements can be found in the Bear Claws adventure of the Bear Handbook. The Whittling Chip patch is considered a temporary patch and, if worn, should be centered on the right pocket of the Cub Scout or Webelos uniform shirt. It should not be sewn on a pocket flap.

The World Conservation Award provides an opportunity for individual Wolf Scouts, Bear Scouts, Webelos Scouts, Boy Scouts, Varsity Scouts, and Venturers to “think globally” and “act locally” to preserve and improve our environment. This program is designed to make youth members aware that all nations are closely related through natural resources , and that we and our world environment are interdependent. Requirements for this award must be completed in addition to any similar requirements completed for rank.
