The Cub Scout Pack is made up of all scouts and adult leadership registered to Shirley Cub Scouts. Every Pack is assigned a number. We are Pack 31!
Scouts are assigned into a den based on their rank (remember a scouts rank is based on their grade level: Lion - Kindergarten, Tiger - 1st Grade, Wolf - 2nd Grade, Bear - 3rd Grade, Webelos - 4th & 5th Grade). The ideal number of scouts within a particular den is 6 - 8, meaning that some packs with a larger number of scouts in a particular grade will have multiple dens for the same rank.
The top volunteer in the pack is the Pack Committee Chair. They oversee all adult leadership and ensure enough qualified adult volunteers are in place to provide a quality program. They lead the pack committee meetings.
Made up of parents, leaders, and other caring adults the pack committee is responsible for the management and administrative tasks of the pack.
The Cubmaster and Assistant Cubmaster plans and leads the monthly pack meetings. The Cubmaster also provides support and leadership to the Den Leaders.
Den Leaders and Assistant Den Leaders plan and organize the den meetings. It is the responsibility of the Den Leaders to ensure that the scouts within their dens are given the opportunity to fulfill the requirements outlined within their rank's Cub Scout Handbook and Leader Guide.
